The Indians fell out of sole posession of first place with Tuesday night’s road loss. They’re now tied with Wood. Noelle Roldan led Napa with 15 points while Shannon Rankin (12 points), Allie Davison (11 points) and Maria O’Byrne (11 points) also played well.

Trella Chrisco (seven points), Taylor Willis (six points), Tatum Souza (four points) and Kendall Pelfini (four points) chipped in scoring as well.

Napa (9-3 Monticello Empire League) host Vacaville on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Indians flatten Falcons...

The Napa High girls basketball team defeated visiting Fairfield 74-54 on Tuesday night to remain atop the Monticello Empire League standings.

“We did good and it was one of our best defensive games with our press,” Indians head coach Darci Lewis said.

Allie Davison had 16 points, seven rebounds, six steals and four assists to lead Napa (14-6 overall, 6-1 MEL), which led 17-5 after one quarter, 35-21 at halftime and 56-37 after three quarters.

Napa Girls Basketball takes Big Game No. 1 Advantage on boards helps Indians...

Vintage High’s girls basketball team took the first quarter, but Napa won the next three and earned a victory.

The Indians ousted the Crushers 50-41 in the season’s first Big Game, at Vintage High School on Thursday night.

Before the game, the cross-town rivals were tied for first place in the Monticello Empire League, with Wood, with 4-1 records. Napa (12-6 overall, 5-1 MEL) now stands in first place, still tied with Wood (5-1 MEL), which beat Vacaville 55-35 on Thursday.

Jenna Priest led Napa (5-12 overall, 0-5 MEL) with nine points and six rebounds while Alex Robben (five points, six rebounds), Shelby Singer (six points) and Becca Steen (five points) also played well.

Napa girls gear up for court clash of MEL leaders...
 

Shannon Rankin had 12 points and three steals and Tatum Souza scored 11 to lead a balanced attack as the first-place Napa High School girls basketball team smothered visiting Vacaville 54-18 on Tuesday night.
Noelle Roldan added eight points and five assists for Napa (11-5 overall, 3-0 MCAL) in the Monticello Empire League contest. Allie Davison had six points, four steals and two assists, Kaliegh Marshall five points and two steals, Rayna Chrisco five rebounds and Taylor Willis four steals.

“Our defensive effort was really good,” said Indians head coach Darci Lewis, whose team gave up six points in the first quarter and two in each of the last two stanzas. “The girls continue to play hard no matter who we put in the game. The intensity level stays up.”

Napa visits MEL co-leader Wood on Friday.

Shelby Singer had 11 points, seven rebounds, five steals and two assists to lead Napa (6-10 overall, 0-3 Monticello Empire League). Becca Steen, Alex Robben and Jenna Priest each had six points. Morgan Benson and Robben each had three rebounds, and Steen had three steals.

Heather Manning had 15 points, Danielle Beatty had 14 points, Lauren Holster 11 and Dani Green six for Napa (6-2 overall, 1-0 Monticello Empire League).
